Yaddo, a creative community for artists, has a rich history dating back to 1900.  Spencer Trask, an 1800s financier whose contributions include funding Thomas Edison’s light bulb and the westward expansion of the railroads, along with his wife Katrina donated their 40 acre estate to the arts, as a retreat and a place for contemplation.  To learn more about Yaddo’s history, please visit yaddo.org.
